Inside An Inkjet Printer: Main Parts

After understanding about basic of printer technology and introduction to inkjet printer,now it’s time to get to know what are main parts that an inkjet printer has inside and how the function support an inkjet printer operation.
By identifying and understanding this,we will know the characteristic and the function of each main parts.  We believe that this will help us to use and maintain the printer better.
These parts,both electrical and mechanical,take important role in entire printing process.
Here are list of some main parts of an inkjet printer:

  • Power Supply / AC adaptor: Supply electricity
  • PCB Assy (Main board / logic board): Main controller of the printer
  • Carriage Part(Carriage Unit): Transport the printhead or cartridge
  • Paper Feed Assy (Sheet Feeder Unit): Pick up paper
  • Purge Unit: Purge the ink from
  • Cartridge or Print Head: Transfer image onto paper
  • Ink Cartridge: Contains ink that will be transferred onto paper to show image
  • DC Motor: Drive mechanical parts
  • etc
